Ry District Heating – Flue Gas Condensation
Objective: Improved efficiency on wood chip boiler for district heating
SEG A / S has supplied, installed and commissioned a new LT10C absorption cooling machine with a cooling power of 300 kW. SEG has also supplied the scrubber system and pipe connections from here to SEG A / S has supplied, installed and commissioned a new LT16C absorption cooling machine with a cooling power of 430 kW. The chipper provides drive heat to the generator of the chiller at a temperature of about 100° C. The scrubber circuit from the scrubber 2 is led directly through the evaporator circuit of the cooling machine, where the scrubbing water is cooled to about 26° C. The evaporator tube, end plates and reversing chambers of the refrigerator are made of stainless steel to withstand the effects of the scrubbing water. The chimney temperature is lowered close to the 26° C, thereby utilizing the condensation heat from the flue gas to raise the overall efficiency of the plant. The cooling machine has been in operation since December 2014, when the project was completed in early 2015.
