SEG A/S has delivered a complete flue gas condensing system for a 12MW wood chip boiler at Åbybro District Heating. The system has met all expectations and provides a boiler efficiency of 116% (measured over three months) when firing with wet wood chips with 45% moisture content.
Torben Stenbroen, Operations Manager at Åbybro District Heating says about the project:
"We are very satisfied with the cooperation and the solution from SEG. The scrubber takes up less than half the space of a conventional wet scrubber and is therefore easier to implement at the existing heating plant. Ours is mounted directly on the flue pipe under the ceiling and therefore does not take up any floor space.
At the same time, the overall business case has been very positive, which also became clear during the tender process, where SEG's solution proved to be the easiest to install and the cheapest on price.
We have had a good collaboration with SEG in the project, where every bump in the road has been solved so that everyone is satisfied. It is clear that SEG has many years of experience in heat pump systems and with their relatively small organization, it is not far from thought to action."
