Purpose: Improved efficiency of boiler systems by flue gas condensation.

SEG A/S has supplied, installed and commissioned two steam driven absorption heat pumps with a total cooling capacity of 9 MW. 3 waste boilers supply hot steam to the heat pump generator, where the operating pressure is 5 bar(g). The evaporator circuit from the heat pumps produces chilled water down to around 20°C, which is passed through the flue gas condensation plant supplied by the Swedish company Radscan. The condensation heat from the flue gas is utilized, which is transferred through the heat pumps into the district heating circuit and out to consumers. The heat output is around 22 MW. The heat pumps have been in operation since November 2017.
