Vestervig District Heating

A 1.2 MW air-to-water heat pump in combination with a 2,000 m3 accumulation tank was designed, installed and commissioned at Vestervig District Heating in 2021.

Fenagy has delivered the heat pump including evaporators and stand for the system.

In terms of control, a simple communication has been established with the existing SRO system, and in addition, there is cooperation with an electricity wholesaler, where you report into the electricity market on a daily basis to obtain favorable heat production prices.

The plant has exceeded expectations for capacity and COP under virtually all operating conditions, and defrosting has been optimized so that it works without us even thinking about it.

Vestervig has also chosen to sign an extended service agreement for the system. This was chosen as it was one of the very first machines from FENAGY, and they wanted predictability on service and maintenance.

For operations manager Preben Bjerre, it has been a good and exciting process: "We are very satisfied with the advice and guidance from SEG and with our choice of Fenagy as supplier of the heat pump. We are also very pleased with the new accumulation tank, which gives us much better operational planning at the plant."
